Arlington, VA -- President Obama honored veterans Friday by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns before speaking at a Veterans Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
The Tomb of the Unknowns is a monument at Arlington National Cemetery dedicated to American service people who were killed at war, whose remains were never identified.
Mr. Obama spoke at the observance before heading to San Diego for a holiday basketball game aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. The first-ever Carrier Classic pits Michigan State against No. 1 North Carolina on board the ship docked in San Diego.
